The Galaxy S10 series has officially been removed from the software support list since the beginning of this year. Except for the later Galaxy S10 Lite, the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10+ have no longer received new updates after four years of market launch.
According to Samsung's software update policy, the Galaxy S10 series will receive three Android upgrades and four years of security updates. However, there is still a new update being rolled out for this product line in Mexico. It has a codename ending in HWI1 and comes with the September 2023 security patch.
It is unclear whether Galaxy S10 users in other markets will receive this update or not. It's possible that this is just an exception for products sold by Telcel in Mexico, as the previous update was released in March, and they are still eligible for another update. Therefore, this may just be the last support effort of this network operator.
Even so, Galaxy S10 users can still hope for some future updates, even if they are no longer supported. Samsung will still issue necessary patches for older devices if they are absolutely necessary. In fact, last year, the company also rolled out updates for the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S7, and Galaxy S8.
If you are using a Galaxy S10 in Mexico, try checking by going to Settings > Software Update > Download and install.
