According to the latest source, the Galaxy S25 will be an optimal machine for gaming with the extremely powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

In recent times, there have been many different baseless rumors about Samsung's Galaxy S25 Series. One of them believes that Samsung will use MediaTek chipsets for its flagships. However, the latest source said that the Galaxy S25 will use and be an optimal machine for gaming with the extremely powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

According to sources from NotebookCheck, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 has AI-powered frame generation technology. This technology is similar to AMD's FSR and Nvidia's DLSS. With this frame generation technology, this chip is powerful enough to run Genshin Impact at 1080p resolution and 120fps frame rate. Flagship phones equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip can run Genshin Impact at 60 frames per second with all graphics settings at maximum.

AI-powered frame generation increases gameplay smoothness but also creates higher input lag and graphics artifacts. It remains to be seen how Qualcomm will handle those issues on its upcoming flagship chip in October 2024. The technology likely won't work on all games and requires developer support development.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 features Qualcomm's custom Oryon CPU cores and Adreno 830 GPU (clocked at 935 MHz). The chip is said to be manufactured using TSMC's 3nm process node and rumors suggest that it is more expensive than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It remains to be seen whether Samsung uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 exclusively for the Galaxy S25 Ultra or applies to all its S25 variants.

If this chip is as powerful as rumored, it could pave the way for AAA games (like Assassin's Creed: Mirage and Resident Evil Village) on Android phones the same way the A17 Pro did on the iPhone 15 Pro series.
