Samsung revealed earlier this year that it is working with Google and Qualcomm to soon introduce XR (Mixed Reality) virtual reality glasses to users.

This product is expected to compete with Apple's Vision Pro virtual reality glasses, launched a few months ago. While Samsung did not reveal the launch timeframe for its XR virtual reality headset, it is reported that the company may launch it alongside the Galaxy Z Flip6.

A report from Korea, JongAng has just stated that Samsung is planning to announce its XR virtual reality glasses in the second half of 2024, along with the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 duo. This product may hit shelves a few months later, in December 2024.

According to sources, Samsung's first XR virtual reality headset will be codenamed "Infinite" and initial production is limited to 30,000 units. If you remember, when Samsung launched the first generation Galaxy Fold phone, the initial production quantity of this folding screen smartphone was also limited to 30,000 units.

In addition, Samsung has joined hands with Google to produce the operating system for XR virtual reality glasses and Qualcomm will supply its processor. An industry insider said Samsung Display and Samsung Electronics have signed a display technology agreement for XR virtual reality glasses. Let's wait and see what other surprises the Korean company will bring to fans!
