Nearly four years after their launch, the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra – the last phones in the Galaxy Note series – are still receiving regular security updates. This week, Samsung brings the June 2024 update to the Galaxy Note 20 series.

The update is rolling out in the US to some locked devices and in Europe. In both regions, the baseband version of the new software has the last four letters as HFX1.

The Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra have no longer received operating system updates since last year. Therefore, this update only fixes security holes. This also applies to future software updates for them.

Samsung will continue to patch security holes in the Galaxy Note 20 series for at least another year, similar to the Galaxy S20 series launched the same year. However, the frequency of receiving security patches will become less frequent starting later this year, when the product has a four-year lifespan.

Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra owners can download the latest update by navigating to Settings → Software Update → Download and install.
