Before that, we also received benchmark scores of the two chips equipped in the high-end Galaxy S24 phone line. It can be seen that the performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor is still superior to the Exynos 2400. However, when it comes to gaming performance, the Exynos 2400 surprises as it possesses superior power. much better than the competition in some specific games.

Exynos has strong gaming performance

A Youtuber tested playing some games on Galaxy S24+ running Exynos 2400 and Galaxy S24 Ultra running Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The test was conducted on Game Booster software and installed "Alternate game performance management" to help improve gaming performance and no overheating.

The following are the conclusions drawn on popular game titles tested by Youtubers to compare these two powerful chips:

  • Genshin Impact: Both chips maintain a stable frame rate at 60fps. This shows that they are capable of handling relatively heavy games on smartphones well. However, performance reduction due to overheating still occurs. It's not too surprising that Genshin Impact is the heaviest mobile game today.
  • PUBG Mobile: Both chips maintain a stable frame rate of 90fps when set to “Smooth” graphics. However, when increased to the "Extreme" level, both machines only reach a maximum of 60fps. This shows that Samsung still needs to improve the software to optimize performance with PUBG Mobile.
  • PUBG New State: With New State, both devices support 90fps at “Ultra” graphics settings. The “Extreme” setting is not currently available with either machine and will require tweaks through software updates.
  • Call of Duty – Mobile: Galaxy S24 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip can run smoothly at 120fps when setting the Super Resolution feature, while S24+ running Exynos only stops at 60fps.
  • Mobile Legends: Not a demanding game, both phones ran at a steady 60fps.
  • Fortnite: Both chips drop to as low as 70fps in combat situations and run at 90fps in normal conditions.
  • War Thunder: Surprisingly, the Exynos S24+ outperforms the Snapdragon S24 Ultra in this game. Both start at around 100fps, but the Snapdragon chip quickly drops to 40fps in city areas.

Overall, the Exynos 2400 was surprised when its performance surpassed Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the game War Thunder. This is also good news for those who own a Galaxy S24 phone running Exynos chip because they will not miss out on any top gaming performance.

These tests are performed on an incomplete version of the hardware. Samsung will continue to further improve the power of the two chips to help users have a smooth experience when playing games. With the support of FSR technology, Exynos 2400 promises to become a great choice for all current game titles.
