Launched on the Galaxy S22 series, Vision Booster is a feature that improves visibility and color reproduction in sunlight.
Samsung's high-end phones are often equipped with the best displays in the industry. Every year, Samsung comes up with at least one new way to improve the display quality of phones. With the Galaxy S22 series, the company introduced Vision Booster. This is a technology that improves visibility and color reproduction in strong lighting conditions.
So how does Vision Booster work? Which Galaxy devices support this technology? This article will give you the answer.
Samsung's Vision Booster improves visibility and color in bright light
To combat the bright light that makes the content on the screen difficult to see, most phone brands try to increase the brightness of the screen.
However, that alone is not enough. So, Samsung's Vision Booster takes advantage of the power of software. This technology works when the Adaptive Brightness feature is on and the phone detects strong ambient light conditions using the light sensor.
Samsung's Vision Booster algorithm analyzes the histogram data from the phone screen to check all the content that is showing on the screen. At the same time, it also analyzes the temperature of the ambient light.
After successfully analyzing the value of each pixel, it uses a different shade mapping to make the dark areas brighter and have richer colors. Samsung says it maximizes the contrast ratio to make colors look more vivid even in direct sunlight or other strong light sources.
Although the color reproduction in such situations will not be the most accurate, the content on the screen will be displayed more clearly to our eyes when the Vision Booster is turned on under certain conditions.

How to enable Vision Booster on Galaxy phones?

However, this technology requires that your phone have the Adaptive Brightness feature enabled. You can follow these steps to make sure this condition is met.
Open the Settings app and then select the Display item.
Swipe to turn on Compatible Brightness.
Alternatively, you can drag down twice from the top of the screen to reveal the brightness slider. Then, click the three-dot icon to the right of the slider and toggle Adaptive Brightness on.
