Samsung Galaxy Ring is probably one of the most anticipated wearable device models today. This product not only marks Samsung's entry into a completely new segment but is also a milestone that makes other major technology companies participate in the smart ring market.

A new report from Korean media outlet Chosun Biz reveals that the Galaxy Ring may offer a few features related to eating and health. The publication said it obtained information from officials familiar with the development of the Galaxy Ring. Accordingly, the company plans to link Galaxy Ring with Samsung Food and Samsung e-Food Center.

Samsung Food is an AI-powered personalized food and recipe service that can plan meals and is compatible with smart homes. By linking the Galaxy Ring with its other services, Samsung will reportedly provide users with customized diet plans based on their health information collected from the device. For example, the Galaxy Ring can recommend meals based on the user's calorie consumption and Body Mass Index (BMI).

Samsung Food - which is associated with its smart refrigerators - will also analyze the ingredients in Galaxy Ring users' refrigerators and provide meal advice based on the contents of the refrigerator. Meanwhile, missing ingredients can be ordered through the Samsung e-Food Center โ€“ a dedicated food shopping portal in Korea.

Samsung offers a similar nutrition tracking feature on some Galaxy Watch models in Korea. We guess the food shopping feature for Galaxy Ring users will also be limited to Korea as the Samsung e-Food Center is not available in other countries. However, the dietary recommendation feature could be launched globally as Samsung Food is available in 104 countries.
