The Galaxy Tab S9 FE series is being updated to One UI 6.0 - the first of four OS updates they'll receive.
There are still many Galaxy devices eligible for One UI 6.0 that have not received the update. Recently, it was the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+'s turn to receive One UI 6.0 (based on Android 14).
This update is available for download in Europe. It has a baseband version of X516BXXU1BWK9 or X616BXXU1BWK9 and includes November 2023 security patches.
The Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ are Samsung's first Fan Edition (FE) series tablets in more than two years. They hit shelves in October with One UI 5.1 (Android 13). In other words, One UI 6.0 is the first OS update we've received.
The time the Galaxy Tab S9 FE series ran One UI 5.1 was very short.
Samsung released these two tablet models at a troubling time when One UI 5.1's time was coming to an end and One UI 6.0 was about to be widely released. This gives me the feeling that one in every four OS upgrades they received was wasted. Anyway, One UI 6.0 has arrived on the Galaxy Tab S9 FE series to enhance the user experience.
One UI 6.0 has better multitasking capabilities and some redesigned user interface elements, such as the quick switch area. Many of Samsung's native apps have improved user interfaces and new features.
If you own a Galaxy Tab S9 FE or Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ and live in Europe, you can download the One UI 6.0 update through the Settings app. Just navigate to the Software Update section and tap Download and Install.
