Samsung continues to roll out security updates for its Galaxy phones. After rolling out to some foldable devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 has now also received the January 2025 security patch.
The update is currently available for both unlocked and carrier-locked devices in the US. Users can identify the update by its firmware version number ending in “GXLF”. The update is not yet available in other markets, but it is expected to expand in the near future.
Galaxy Z Flip 4 users will receive an automatic notification when the update is available. If you haven’t received a notification, you can check and download it manually by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
The January 2025 update mainly brings important security patches to improve the safety of your device. While there are no new features in this patch, Galaxy Z Flip 4 users still have something to look forward to. Samsung is working on Android 15 with One UI 7, the third major update for the Flip 4. The upgrade is expected to roll out around March, bringing new features and significant performance improvements.
