Samsung's CEO confirmed that the company will equip the Galaxy S24 series with satellite connectivity for emergency situations.

Recently, a Samsung executive expressed the company's confidence in the performance of the Exynos 2400 in the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+. Recently, he also revealed a major upgrade of the Galaxy S24 series.

The Galaxy S24 is confirmed to have two-way satellite connectivity for emergency situations.

Park Yong-in – CEO of Samsung's System LSI division – has confirmed that the company will support satellite connectivity for emergency services starting next year. In other words, the Galaxy S24 series – which will be launched early next year – will have two-way satellite connectivity for emergency situations. The above feature first appeared in 2022 with Apple's iPhone 14 series. It also appeared on the Huawei P60 series earlier this year.

Earlier this year, Samsung revealed that it was developing a two-way satellite connection for smartphones. It's possible that Samsung is using that technology for the Galaxy S24 series. However, it is still unclear whether this feature will be available throughout the Galaxy S24 line or just the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

With a two-way satellite connection, you can send and receive messages about your location and emergencies even when you're in remote areas where cellular networks aren't available.
