Samsung certainly disappointed many fans when it announced that One UI 7.0 would be released early next year with the new Galaxy S series.

In turn, yesterday was also the day I got to interact with a very early build of One UI 7.0 on a device at the Samsung Developer Conference 2024 in San Jose. That's when I discovered the existence of a new feature: Galaxy Avatar.

Galaxy Avatar is one of the new features of One UI 7.0

We've posted some footage of One UI 7.0. There are a lot of notable changes to the user interface as Samsung claimed. However, it's worth noting that this is an early build, so there may be more changes in the future.

Galaxy Avatar was spotted in the Advanced Features section. However, not much information about the feature was revealed other than the two options: Avatar Stickers and Avatar Camera. It’s unclear whether this is a completely new approach to digital avatars or just a refresh of the existing AR Emoji feature.

It’s possible that more features will be added to One UI 7.0 in the future. Samsung says it’s a significant upgrade, especially in terms of the user interface.

Samsung has confirmed that it will release a developer beta of One UI 7.0 before the end of the year, so expect to hear more about the new software in the coming weeks.
