If rumors and leaks are accurate, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 – Samsung's upcoming flagship foldable phone – will be launched in just over a month at the Unpacked event on July 10. There's been a lot of information leaked, with renders of the product leaking over three months ago. Accordingly, the design of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is inspired by the Galaxy S24 Ultra with square edges. A recently leaked photo gives us a clearer look at the new design of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Famous tipster @UniverseIce posted a photo on X showing a close-up of the top edge of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. At first glance, you might mistake the device for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, when you look closer, you'll notice the hinge on the left side, confirming this is the first leaked real-life photo of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which looks very similar to previous renders of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 with square edges.

In addition, the photo also confirms that the outer screen of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be wider than that of its predecessor, although it is difficult to determine the exact numbers. A previous leak said the product will have an external screen that is 2.8mm wider than the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

While still not as wide as OnePlus' Open or Google's Pixel Fold, the new size will still help make the Galaxy Z Fold 6's cover screen more useful. Many people complain about the external screen size of the current Galaxy Z Fold series. Therefore, any improvement is welcome.

The square design has a few disadvantages

The square design of the Galaxy S24 Ultra makes the product difficult to use with one hand and does not provide a comfortable holding experience. Since it has the same design language, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 may face similar issues. The thick design of the product can even aggravate the problem. In addition, the square design makes the Galaxy Z Fold 6 not easily slide in or out of the pocket.

If you're a fan of the Galaxy Z Fold series, you may have to learn to live with the above issues in exchange for a larger external screen.
