Nearly a decade after its release, Good Lock is now available for download in every country and region. Samsung will also stop tying Good Lock to the Galaxy Store.
Fans have long criticized Samsung for limiting Good Lock to certain countries and regions, an app that lets you heavily customize your Galaxy device.
Samsung has hinted that this could change with the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update. A company employee recently confirmed this.
And that's not all, Samsung will also offer Good Lock from the Google Play Store. Currently, you can only download the app from the Galaxy Store.
Plans to bring Good Lock to the Google Play Store were leaked when the app temporarily appeared there in early 2024. This change should please those who want to use every app from Android's default app store.
Samsung hasnโt given an exact timeline for any of these changes, though I suspect Good Lock will be available for download globally and from the Google Play Store when the stable version of One UI 7.0 officially rolls out to the Galaxy S24 series and more. Rumor has it that One UI 7.0 will leave beta in February.
