After Samsung announced that the Galaxy S24 series will receive seven years of Android and One UI updates, many are asking whether other Galaxy devices will receive software support for that long.

However, Samsung confirmed that no smartphone or tablet launched before the Galaxy S24 has received updates in such seven years. They will only receive up to four years of operating system upgrades and five years of security updates for Galaxy devices.

A recent rumor said that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be one of two folding-screen smartphones that will receive updates in seven years. The other will be Google's Pixel Fold 2, expected to launch later this year.

Although Samsung has not officially confirmed anything, this is entirely possible. Simply because there is no reason for the company not to provide the same types of support for a high-end folding phone worth 1800 USD (about 44.4 million VND) in the US as they provide for the Galaxy S24 series.

As for the Galaxy Z Flip 6, they are also not cheap. However, the devices are not considered flagship phones like the Galaxy S or Galaxy Z Fold smartphones. Although everything is uncertain as of now, I'm guessing that there's a high chance that the Z Flip 6 will also receive seven years of software updates.
