Samsung has successfully solved one of the biggest problems with foldable phones with the new Galaxy Z Flip 6. However, overall this is still just a fairly small upgrade.

Last year's Galaxy Z Flip 5 was launched with an external screen measuring up to 3.4". Additionally, as the heart of the program, FlexWindow has improved the user experience significantly. This year, Samsung has further refined what it already has.

As part of One 6.1.1, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 adds a number of new features to the external display, including:

  • Message reply suggestions: use AI to assist users in replying to text messages.
  • Weather environment photo: change wallpaper in real time based on time and weather.
  • Interactive wallpapers: make 3D characters react when the device is moved.

Samsung says there are β€œmore Widgets than ever before.” However, we still do not have information about the new widget. One of the valuable improvements is the ability to display multiple widgets on the screen at the same time. However, the list of available widgets is still limited.

Similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is equipped with a 3.4" AMOLED external screen with a 60Hz refresh rate and a 6.7" AMOLED main screen with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz.

The next big upgrades involve the camera. The main sensor has finally been upgraded to 50MP resolution from 12MP. Thanks to that, zoom capabilities will be improved. Meanwhile, the super wide-angle camera and front camera are not improved. Finally, Samsung has upgraded FlexCam with Auto Zoom capability to automatically suggest the best frame.

In addition, Samsung also upgraded the battery capacity of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 to 4000mAh, 8% higher than the previous generation. In addition, thanks to the power-saving capabilities of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, battery life can be significantly increased. However, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is thinner, with a thickness of 14.9mm when closed.

Furthermore, the entire Galaxy Z Flip 6 has 12GB of memory. Comes with two storage options: 256GB and 512GB.

The fingerprint recognition sensor is not changed. Overall weight is the same, remaining at 187g. However, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is IP48 dust and water-resistant. This is the first time the Galaxy Z series is dust resistant.

Like the Galaxy S24 series, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will also receive Android and security updates for seven years. The product is shipped with One UI 6.1.1 based on Android 14.

Galaxy Z Flip 6 will be available on July 24. However, you can already pre-order the Galaxy Z Flip 6 at Samsung's online store. The product has four color options: Maya Blue, Solar Yellow, Mint Green and Metallic Gray. Additionally, there are three more color options that can only be found at Samsung's online store: Crafted Black, Classic White, and Peach Blossom.
