Galaxy AI was introduced with the Galaxy S24 series earlier this year. This is an AI-powered smart toolkit that brings many popular features like real-time text and audio translation from one language to another, website summaries, advanced photo editing, etc... very useful in daily use.
At the time of launch, Samsung said users could use Galaxy AI for free until 2025. This means the company will likely charge for this service from 2026. Now, the technology giant Korean technology once again reminds everyone about this problem.
In its new press release published today, Samsung said it has opened seven experience spaces (Galaxy Experience Spaces) around the world to showcase Galaxy AI features. In the caption below, the company emphasizes that: "Galaxy AI features will be available for free until the end of 2025 on supported Samsung Galaxy devices."
Major GenAI chatbots or virtual assistants currently on the market, such as Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and Open AI's ChatGPT all have paid versions in addition to free versions. Of course, the paid version will add more features than the free version. While the paid services all have their own names like Gemini Advanced, Copilot Plus, and ChatGPT Plus, it's likely that Samsung will also use a different brand of Galaxy AI, such as Galaxy AI Plus.
