The new, thinner, and lighter design could provide a better grip for users.
Although Samsung's next-generation Galaxy S is still a few months away, a lot of information about the product line has been leaked. The top-end Galaxy S25 Ultra is said to have a completely new design with rounded corners for more comfortable use over long periods of time. Not only that, new rumors also suggest that it will also be thinner and lighter than all of its competitors this year, including the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Samsung seems to be looking to improve the grip experience completely on its upcoming Ultra phone. Many previous sources have said that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will not only have rounded corners but also rounded edges that touch the front and back for the most comfortable grip possible. Famous leakster Ice Universe also revealed that this could be the Korean company's thinnest Galaxy S Ultra model ever. It's even thinner and lighter than high-end phones from Google and Apple.
In a new post on social network X (Twitter), Ice Universe asserts that the Galaxy S25 Ultra "is the thinnest and lightest Ultra flagship phone of all upcoming flagships, including the iPhone 16 Pro Max and Pixel 9 Pro XL". If this information is accurate, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be at least 12g lighter than its predecessor. Specifically, the Galaxy S24 Ultra weighs 233g while the Pixel 9 Pro XL weighs 221g. This is really surprising because Samsung's next Ultra phone is expected to have many hardware upgrades but still be lighter and thinner.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is said to have an improved camera system with a new 50MP 3x telephoto camera, which could be much better than the 10MP 3x sensor on the current model. A Samsung executive also confirmed that there will be major upgrades to the display and camera on the Galaxy S25 series. Unfortunately, the Galaxy S25 Ultra may not have a battery upgrade.
