The One UI 6.1 update - which will likely be introduced with the Galaxy S24 - has many AI features that help protect battery health.
Although Samsung has yet to announce the Galaxy S24 series, many of its features and specifications have been leaked over the past few months. This product line is expected to be announced next month with One UI 6.1 based on Android 14. Recently, Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy S24 line will have many AI features. One of them has been leaked.
According to a new leak from Tarun Vats, One UI 6.1 will have more battery protection features. The basic mode stops charging at 100% and resumes at 95%. Meanwhile, Adaptive mode charges the phone up to 80% and pauses until you wake up. Many other companies also have similar functions. Finally, Max mode stops charging the battery at 85%, which is generally considered good for battery health.
It's likely that some of these battery protection features are operated by on-device AI to learn from your usage behavior and take appropriate action. If these are all the battery protection features, One UI 6.1 is only missing the Battery Health percentage display that is available on the iPhone. This is a measurement of battery capacity compared to when the battery was new.
Galaxy S24 will be equipped with a 4000 mAh battery. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24+ will have a 4900 mAh battery. Galaxy S24 Ultra will continue to have a 5000 mAh battery capacity like its predecessor. As expected, all three will be equipped with more energy-efficient processors. Therefore, their battery life can be improved.
