Usually, Samsung releases security updates for its high-end smartphones before the 10th of every month. However, it seems that the company is quite busy with the recent Unpacked event, so the Galaxy S24 series has just started receiving the July 2024 security update.
Samsung's July 2024 update fixes 58 security issues, including 25 Android vulnerabilities and 33 vulnerabilities that only affect Galaxy phones and tablets. The update for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra weighing around 537MB has now started rolling out in Korea and the US with codenames S921U1UES3AXFC, S926U1UES3AXFC and S928U1UES3AXFC respectively.
Other than the security patch, this update does not bring any improvements or new features to the Galaxy S24 series. Users in other parts of the world may receive the update in the next few days. To check, you can go to Settings > Software updates > Download and install.
The Galaxy S24 will receive a major camera update in August
If you were expecting a camera upgrade, you may have to wait until August. Additionally, the next update may bring new Galaxy AI features like QR code scanning support in the Zone feature Search, transcribe, and translate voice notes in Samsung Notes, and more. According to leaks Universe Ice, some of the Galaxy S24's camera upgrades include better low-light photography, improved HDR performance, and allowing the telephoto camera to take more detailed photos.
