Samsung recently rolled out a new update to the Camera Assistant app, giving the Galaxy S23 series a new zoom option.
Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra users can now download version 1.1.03.1 of the Camera Assistant app on the Galaxy Store. The update brings a dedicated 2x zoom option in the Photos mode of the native Camera app. To enable this option, your phone needs to be updated with the August 2023 security patch.
Then, open the Camera Assistant app and enable the Optical Quality Crop Zoom option. This is an enhanced 2x zoom option by cropping photos from the phone's main sensor for better image quality.
The news that Samsung will add a 2x zoom mode appeared a few months ago, now it has become a reality. The Galaxy S23 series has now received the first One UI 6.0 Beta update, it is expected that they will receive the stable version later this year.
