Samsung finally introduced the Galaxy Ring at Mobile World Congress 2024 this week. Since this is a Samsung product, it's no surprise that it's highly compatible with the Galaxy phone line. However, what if you prefer to use an iPhone?

Turns out Galaxy Ring doesn't support iPhones at all. So if you want to use a smart ring with your iPhone, you have two options at the moment: buy a third-party product or wait until Apple launches one.

iPhone users have no choice but to switch to Galaxy phones

Hon Pak – Vice President of Samsung – revealed in a discussion that the company is trying to support Android devices from other brands. When asked about iOS, he said: “We recognize the iOS/Android rivalry and ultimately we hope that our devices are so good that people will be willing to switch.”

Samsung sees the Galaxy Ring as a lure to lead Apple users into the Galaxy ecosystem. The company wants to take advantage of the Galaxy Ring - a completely new type of device - to get iPhone users - at least those not completely locked into the Apple ecosystem - to try Android and Galaxy devices. Samsung also did the same thing with the Galaxy Z foldable phone line.

Additionally, this discussion also revealed that the smallest and largest size options of the Galaxy Ring feature 14mAh and 21.5mAh batteries, respectively. The company says users can expect up to nine days of battery life. Of course, this statement needs to be verified by a third party.

Samsung has not yet confirmed when the Galaxy Ring will hit shelves. It has been reported that the next Unpacked event will take place in July. The Galaxy Ring will likely go on sale soon after.
