The Galaxy A55 is receiving a security update. This is one of Samsung's latest mid-range phone models in 2024. Of course, the product is being updated monthly like its predecessor.
However, Samsung's ability to adhere to its schedule appears to be declining. Galaxy A55 owners have been complaining on the company's forums about their devices not being updated for an unknown reason. The new update comes nearly two months after the previous update for the Galaxy A55.

Worse, Galaxy A55 users have not received the latest security patches. Instead, they received the May 2024 security patch. The Baseband version of the new software – A556EXXU3AXF2 – shows that the update does more than just patch security holes. However, the changelog provides no further information.
The Galaxy A55 is Samsung's first phone to support seamless updates, allowing updates to be installed in the background while the device is in use. Thanks to this, users no longer have to restart their devices and wait for updates to be installed.
It seems that the seamless updates have not been as… seamless as expected. This may be the reason why it took so long for Samsung to release updates for the Galaxy A55. However, we cannot confirm this suspicion.
Anyway, the Galaxy A55 is finally getting a software update. You can check if the update has landed on your device by navigating to the Settings app → Software Update → Download and install.
