Phone models of the Galaxy S24 series are about to be launched. The company has sent out invitations for the next Unpacked event, which will soon be held in San Jose, California. The company opened a pre-order program and rewarded those who participated with a discount of one million.
Samsung said the Galaxy S24 series will offer "a completely new mobile experience, now powered by AI" but did not confirm any specifications. More details will be revealed on January 18.
However, we have enough information to guess how Samsung distributes Snapdragon and Exynos processors. If you are using the Galaxy S23 series, you should know that the Galaxy S24 series will mark the return of the Exynos processor.
The Galaxy S24 series will not only use Qualcomm processors like the Galaxy S23 series. However, they will not completely separate the two processors as clearly as before.
After releasing the Galaxy S22 and Exynos 2200 series in 2022, Samsung took up to two years to develop the new processor. Therefore, they did not release high-end Exynos processors in 2023. As a result, the Galaxy S23 series only uses Snapdragon processors.
Even though Exynos is making a comeback, recent reports suggest that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will still be Snapdragon-only. In other words, only the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ will have an Exynos variant.
Like in the past, some regions will get the Exynos-powered variant, while others will get the Snapdragon-powered variant. And if nothing changes, Samsung could divide Exynos and Snapdragon as follows:
- Galaxy S24/S24+ with Exynos will be released in Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Southwest Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Korea.
- Galaxy S24/S24+ with Snapdragon will be available in China, Japan, Latin America, and North America.
More specifically, Samsung will use Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for the Galaxy S24 series. Both boast strong performance and AI capabilities.
