It may take Samsung up to a month after the Galaxy S24 launch to bring One UI 6.1 to older devices.

There is only one month left until Samsung announces the Galaxy S24 series. According to the leak, the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra were officially launched on January 17 and hit shelves at the end of the month.

In addition to upgraded hardware, the Galaxy S24 series also runs a new version of One UI with many added software features. One UI 6.1 will be introduced with the Galaxy S24 series. So, Samsung is working hard to push One UI 6.0 to eligible devices to completely shift its focus to One UI 6.1.

As expected, most Galaxy devices running One UI 6.0 (based on Android 14) are eligible for One UI 6.1. But when will this update be rolled out?

AI features on One UI 6.1 may delay the release.
Based on the One UI 5.1 release schedule, One UI 6.1 could start appearing on existing Galaxy devices by the end of January as One UI 5.1 was released for the Galaxy S22 series about two weeks after the Galaxy S23 series was announced.

In the worst-case scenario, it could take Samsung up to a month after the Galaxy S24 series is launched to bring One UI 6.1 to older Galaxy devices. This is the amount of time the company needs to release One UI 4.1 and One UI 3.1 in 2022 and 2021.

Samsung will likely need more time to develop One UI 6.1. The new operating system has many AI features that the company should thoroughly test on existing Galaxy devices before implementing them. However, everything is currently just speculation. It will likely be several weeks before we have concrete information on this matter.
