An issue with the Galaxy Wearable app left many users unable to connect to their Galaxy Watch smartwatches.
Samsung provides users with an application called Galaxy Wearable to connect smartphones with other devices of the company, such as smartwatches or wireless headphones. Each connected device will have its plugin. For example, the Galaxy Watch 6 will need a different plugin than the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. Although it sounds a bit complicated, downloading and connecting is quite easy.
However, currently, this application is having problems for many Google Pixel phone users. Through Reddit, multiple reports show that the Galaxy Wearable app on this device does not work when connected to the Galaxy Watch. This comes after yesterday's Pixel January 2024 update, and it only affects Galaxy Watch devices and not headphones. The issue appears on all Samsung Wear OS smartwatches, including the Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 5, and Watch 6.
The problem is not in accessing the application, but in not being able to maintain a connection between the Galaxy Watch and Google Pixel devices. Most users who encountered the problem said their phone lost connection and could not reconnect.
While the latest update for Google Pixel appears to be the cause of the problem, it looks like Samsung will have to release an app update to fix it. Otherwise, users will have to wait until February to receive a fix from Google. Currently, neither Samsung nor Google have commented on this issue.
Notably, not only Pixel users but many other devices also encounter this problem, including Samsung's phones. It causes the phone to crash or spin continuously. Some users say this issue can be fixed by rolling back the phone's date to 2023. It's unclear if this solution works for Pixel devices, but we don't recommend doing so. . Anyway, it is only a temporary solution and may cause some other effects.
