Samsung just released an update for the Galaxy Watch 6 series in Korea. This update offers minor improvements to wearables along with a new feature that has left many confused.
The new Health View tool lets you view exercise data on your TV, computer monitor, projector, and several other Samsung products. According to the changelog, this feature is only available on smart home devices launched in 2024 or later and connected to the same Samsung account as the watch.
It's unclear why Samsung prioritized developing this feature. Some users took to Reddit to complain that they still couldn't view health data in the browser, which some said was a more sensible move. Unfortunately, Samsung doesn't seem to have any other plans for Health View.
This update also includes a new core for the Touchscreen Panel (TSP) and the March 2024 security patch. Here is the Baseband Version of the update:
- Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 40mm: R930TBU1AXB7
- Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 44mm: R940XXU1AXB7
- Samsung Galaxy 6 Classic 43mm: R950XXU1AXB7
- Samsung Galaxy 6 Classic 47mm: R960XXU1AXB7
It is expected that the four LTE models will also receive this update in the near future. It is still unclear when Galaxy Watch 6 models in other regions such as North America and Vietnam will be updated.
