Samsung has released a new update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 in most countries around the world to improve the security of the device.

Galaxy Z Fold 4 receives October 2024 security update

The latest software update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 includes the October 2024 security patches, which patch more than 40 security vulnerabilities found in the previous software version. The update does not bring any new features or improvements.

The update is now rolling out to African, Asian, and European countries with baseband version F936BXXS8GXIC. In Canada, the update has baseband version F936WVLS3DWI1. In Samsung's home country of South Korea, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is receiving a new update with baseband version F936NKSS4GXIC.

In the US, the Galaxy Z Fold 4's unlocked and locked variants are receiving a new update with baseband versions F936USQS6GXIC and F936U1UES6GXIC, respectively.

If you own a Galaxy Z Fold 4, you can check to see if the update has landed on your device by navigating to Settings โ†’ Software update โ†’ Download and install.

The next major software update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is One UI 7.0 based on Android 15, which will be available early next year. One UI 7.0 features a completely new user interface with smoother animations, new battery and charging animations, a separate Quick Panel and Notifications screen, and new app icons.
