Looks like Samsung isn't ready to give up on Bixby just yet. The company is planning to introduce AI-generated features for this virtual assistant. Recently, according to information from a top executive at Samsung, we will soon see that happen.
Samsung wants to improve Bixby with generative AI features
In an interview with CNBC, a Samsung executive talked about how Samsung wants to bring generative AI to Bixby.
“With the emergence of generative AI and LLM (large language modeling) technology, I believe we must redefine the role of Bixby so that Bixby can be equipped with generative AI and become a smarter Future." —Won-Joon Choi, executive vice president of Samsung's mobile business unit, shares
It's been almost seven years since Samsung introduced Bixby. Despite a difficult start, Samsung still did not give up. With AI features coming to Bixby, this assistant could become more useful in the future.
Sadly, Samsung executives did not share any more information about Bixby's future with generative AI. However, I still look forward to the day Bixby is upgraded to become more useful and intuitive. I'm not sure if Bixby can compete with Gemini or Google Assistant. But considering how Samsung is trying not to be left behind, I want to find out the answer.
Earlier this year, Samsung made it clear that Bixby and Galaxy AI would exist side by side. At the time, we didn't know what Samsung intended to do to achieve that goal. However, considering how Samsung plans to bring generative AI to Bixby, we finally have some ideas. I'm really curious as to what the company is planning to do.
