A few months ago, Samsung released the Wear OS-based One UI Watch 5 update for their watches. This update includes new watch faces for the Galaxy Watch 4 series and newer models. Two of those watch faces were released for the Galaxy Watch 3 a few days ago, and now they've landed on the Galaxy Watch Active 2.

The Galaxy Watch Active 2 is currently receiving a new software update that has the baseband version R820XXU1FWK2 (Wi-Fi only) or R825FXXU1EWK2 (Wi-Fi + LTE). There aren't any new features. Performance is also not improved. This update seems to be all about bringing the One UI Watch 5's two new watch faces to the Galaxy Watch Active 2. Their names are Time Stretch and Perpetual. As you can see in the photo below, they are traditional watch faces with some customization.

The new update is hitting the Galaxy Watch Active 2 in most countries around the world. However, some markets may have to wait a few more weeks. To check if your watch is powered up, you can use the Galaxy Wearable app on the phone the watch is paired with. Just select Galaxy Watch Active 2 after pressing the three dashes icon on the left side. Then, navigate to Watch Settings โ†’ Watch Software Update โ†’ Download and install.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Watch Active 2 in 2019 with Tizen OS 4.0.06. The products were upgraded to Tizen 5.5.0.1 in September 2020 and Tizen 5.5.0.2 in January 2021. Since then, they no longer receive operating system updates but occasionally receive some new features.
