Samsung is working hard to improve its health platform through hardware and software improvements. Galaxy Ring is one of Samsung's most anticipated products. Recently, the device appeared to the public at the first Samsung Health Partner Day event.
Samsung understands that it needs industry partners to make the Health platform more mature. They held the event at Gravity Seoul Pangyo Hotel and invited about 200 industry officials.
The event welcomes representatives from healthcare companies, investment firms, and professional medical organizations. Samsung presented its digital healthcare vision at the event and discussed new ways to build partnerships and expand the Samsung Health ecosystem.
According to Dr. Hon Pak, head of the Digital Health Group at Samsung MX, “the digital health ecosystem will grow and become more sophisticated.” In anticipation of changes in the market due to new hardware, Samsung created Health Partner Day to bring new opportunities and strengthen collaboration with industry leaders.
Galaxy Ring, AI, and more
Samsung Health is at the heart of the health and fitness tracking experience for Galaxy device users. The company wants the platform to be more open to industry partners and developers.
At today's event, Samsung talked more about the Samsung Health SDK for developers. The company also has a team of people focused on the role of AI (artificial intelligence) in the healthcare market.
Recently, AI has been mentioned a lot as the next step to upgrading the Health usage experience. A new patent even reveals that Samsung is researching ways to enable continuous AFib monitoring through AI by translating PPG signals into ECG.
Back at the Samsung Health Partner Day event, one of the stars of the show was the Galaxy Ring. The upcoming wearable was last seen at MWC 2024 in February but made another appearance at Samsung's event this time to remind us that it will be hitting the market soon.
Once again, the smart ring is behind glass panels. However, nothing seems to have changed in terms of design since we saw the prototype at MWC earlier this year.
It looks like there were only seven Galaxy Ring sizes revealed at today's event. Previously, the company introduced up to nine sizes in Barcelona earlier this year. It's unclear exactly how many size options there will be in total. A new leak shows that the company has come up with a way to help you determine the right ring size for you completely online.
In the press release, Samsung reconfirmed that the Galaxy Ring is “expected to release in the second half of this year.” As expected, the product will be officially announced in more detail at the next Galaxy Unpacked event that Samsung will hold in Paris on July 10.
