Samsung continues to improve the user experience with the One UI 7.0 update, bringing a host of features and upgrades. One of the notable improvements that is not officially mentioned in the changelog is the ability to support faster Ethernet speeds on Galaxy S24 devices.
A user on Reddit discovered that Samsung has increased the maximum Ethernet speed from 1Gbps to 2.5Gbps in the One UI 7.0 beta update. They shared screenshots of the connection speed, the Ethernet adapter used, and a comparison between two Galaxy S24 Ultras: one running One UI 6.1 and the other running One UI 7.0.
The adapter used is the SABRENT USB C 2.5 Gbps Ethernet LAN Adapter, which shows perfect compatibility with One UI 7. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 Ultra device running One UI 6.1 cannot achieve the same speed or even work stably with this adapter.
With this improvement, if you want to take advantage of the Ethernet connection on the Galaxy S24 instead of Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7, you can now experience faster speeds, especially when using high-speed adapters.
Hopefully, this feature will be expanded to other Galaxy devices, including smartphones and tablets using USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports. For Galaxy S series users, this is a notable improvement, providing a more flexible connection experience in many use cases.
