Samsung is preparing to release One UI 6.1 for its older Galaxy devices. The company recently confirmed that the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 will also receive this update.
One UI 6.1 was just launched a few days ago, along with the Galaxy S24 series. This is still a custom interface version based on Android 14 but brings many improvements in performance, animations, and some new features. At the Unpacked event, Samsung also confirmed devices that will receive One UI 6.1 with new AI features, including the Galaxy S23 series.
According to an admin of the Samsung user forum, One UI 6.1 will be available for the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 series in the next few months. Specifically, the update will likely be released as early as March, but still in the first half of 2024.
This information does not seem too surprising. What users really care about is whether the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 will receive AI features in the One UI 6.1 update. Samsung has not yet disclosed this issue, but the company may bring some selected features from the Galaxy S24 to the flagship lines of 2021 and 2022.
