While One UI 7.0 may be Samsung's biggest software update in years, there's still a lot that's unclear about One UI 7.0's user interface. Whether or not the stable version of One UI 7.0 will look like the big leak from a few weeks ago is unclear. Either way, things can change at the last minute.

However, a new report suggests that the user interface for the new Live Activities looks just as stunning as the big leak.

The two screenshots below seem to confirm the current look of Live Activities, showing off the super cool blur and gradient algorithm.

If you're not sure what the two images represent, it's a new lock screen component of One UI 7.0 that could work similarly to Apple's Live Activities.

The two images above show a pill-shaped notification on the lock screen that changes automatically based on what you're doing on the device. Notifications from various apps will be displayed, including Voice Recorder and Clock.

Samsung probably won't call this new component Live Activities, as that name is already used by Apple. Either way, the design of the new component may have been set in stone.

Samsung said at SDC24 that one of the three main pillars of One UI 7.0 is to evoke positive emotions from users whenever they interact with the device, which the new component does quite well. The other two design pillars are simplicity and impact.

One UI 7.0 has been one of Samsung's most anticipated updates in years. The first beta could be released by the end of 2024, and the Galaxy S25 series will be available with the new software.
