Samsung has just officially launched the Galaxy Tab S10 series without much fanfare. Unlike its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab S10 series only includes two products: the Galaxy Tab S10+ and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra with screen sizes of 12.4” and 14.6” respectively. Both tablets are equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+ processor.

In terms of software, the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra are no less than the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Both run One UI 6.1.1 based on Android 14 out of the box. They are likely to be upgraded to One UI 7.0 based on Android 15 before the end of 2024. However, how long will the Galaxy Tab S10 series be supported by the software?

Galaxy Tab S10 Series Eligible for Seven Years of Software Updates

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra will receive software updates for seven years. So Android 21 will be the last major OS upgrade for these two tablets.

That's still not impressive for business tablets, however. For example, the business version of the Galaxy Tab Active 5 is eligible for eight years of software updates. Still, seven years is a long time, especially when consumers don't upgrade their tablets as often as they do their phones.
