When the Galaxy Z Fold 6 was released, Gemini was updated to be optimized for foldable phones. Specifically, the app supports opening in a split-screen view on Galaxy Z Fold series phones running One UI 6.1.1. Recently, Gemini has also been optimized for the Galaxy Tab series and other Android foldable phones and tablets.'

Gemini supports opening in a split-screen view on Galaxy Tab and other Android tablets

When you open the Gemini app on an Android tablet, you will see that the app now has a toolbar to open Gemini in split-screen view. This feature was previously only available on the Galaxy Z Fold series but is now supported on the Galaxy Tab series and other Android phones and tablets from other brands.

With a split-screen view, you can open Gemini on one half of the screen and another app on the other half. This can be useful in situations like when you want to watch a video or surf the web and use Gemini to research a topic.

Despite being a brand-new app, Gemini still doesnโ€™t take full advantage of the screen space that flip phones and tablets offer. Hopefully, Google will fix this soon.

Over the past few months, Gemini has slowly integrated with other Google services, including Gmail, Drive, Messages, Tasks, Workspace, YouTube, and YouTube Music. Google is also testing Gemini integrations with Spotify and WhatsApp. Itโ€™s likely that more third-party apps and services will integrate with Gemini in the future.
