Samsung has just released the January 2025 security update for the Galaxy S21 FE. Although this is not the One UI 7.0 update based on Android 15 as many people expected, it still helps improve the security of the device.

Currently, the carrier-locked Galaxy S21 FE version in the US has started receiving the update with the software code G990USQSEGXL4. This security patch fixes a series of security vulnerabilities that were discovered in the previous software, helping to improve the safety of the device.

If you are using the Galaxy S21 FE, try checking by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

The Galaxy S21 FE was launched with Android 12 and promises to receive four major Android operating system updates. Currently, the device is running Android 14 with One UI 6.1. Android 15 (One UI 7.0) is expected to be released in the next 2-3 months, and Android 16 will be the final update, expected to launch later this year.
