Among foldable phones on the market, DxOMark rated the new Galaxy Z Fold 6's camera as the highest quality. It even beat the Pixel Fold in zoom capabilities, even though the Pixel Fold has superior telephoto camera hardware.
In terms of camera quality, DxOMark ranked the Galaxy Z Fold 6 first among foldable phones and 45th in the global rankings. It scored 133 points, on par with the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, Pixel 7a, Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, Galaxy S23, and Galaxy S23+.
More specifically, the Galaxy Z Fold 6's zoom capabilities scored 135 points, significantly higher than the 117 achieved by the Pixel Fold. Interestingly, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 only has a 10MP 3x telephoto camera, while the Pixel Fold boasts a 10.8MP 5x telephoto camera. However, DxOMark says the Galaxy Z Fold 6's telephoto camera beats the Pixel Fold's despite its inferior specs.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6's camera has other strengths, too
In other areas, DxOMark praises the Galaxy Z Fold 6 for its wide dynamic range, good exposure, low noise in bright environments, good depth in portraits, effective video stabilization, good color in the video, and good detail in the video in most conditions and zoom shots.
Of course, no mobile camera is perfect. DxOMark criticizes Galaxy Z Fold 6 for poor low-light autofocus, low-light noise, and chroma, occasional inaccurate color reproduction, underexposed ultra-wide-angle photos, underexposed night shots without the flashlight, inconsistent autofocus, refocusing when shooting videos, and more.
