Samsung is about to launch many products, including the Galaxy Watch 7 series, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Buds 3 series. Ahead of the Galaxy Unpacked event, the company announced a new Exynos processor, which will appear inside the Galaxy Watch 7.
Exynos W1000 is much more powerful than its predecessor
Exynos W1000 is manufactured on Samsung's 3nm GAA process, thanks to which single-core and multi-core performance are 3.4 and 3.7 times higher, respectively. The company claims that the new processor can open applications 2.7 times faster. Switching between applications will also be smoother than the previous generation.
In addition, the Exynos W1000 will be more energy efficient than the Exynos W930, which is manufactured on a 5nm process and appears in the Galaxy Watch 6 line. According to Samsung, “The Exynos W1000 redefines expectations about how often you have to charge your smartwatch. my intelligence.”
The Exynos W1000 has a total of five CPU cores, including one Cortex-A78 core clocked at 1.6GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.5GHz. Along with that is the Mali-G68 MP2 GPU, which supports a maximum screen resolution of 960px × 540px or 640px × 640px. The new processor supports LPDDR5 memory and up to 32GB of eMMC storage. Exynos W1000 also uses Fan-Out Panel Level Packaging (FO-PLP) technology to reduce overall size and increase heat dissipation efficiency. For comparison, the Exynos W930 only has two Cortex-A55 CPU cores clocked at 1.4GHz.
Besides having a more powerful performance, the Exynos W1000 also has a smaller overall size. Thanks to that, the Galaxy Watch 7 can be equipped with a higher-capacity battery. Finally, the new processor also has an Always-On Display 2.5D processor, allowing for "innovative displays and watch faces with rich details". In other words, Always-On Display's user interface elements will be displayed more clearly.
