Google has been constantly improving Android for large-screen devices like foldable phones and tablets. With the launch of Android 12L, the company has started optimizing its apps for these types of devices. Recently, Android 15 has improved the touchpad experience with Android tablets.

One UI 7.0 based on Android 15 will bring tap and drag gestures to Galaxy tablets connected to a touchpad

Thanks to DeX and the Keyboard Cover, Samsung's premium Galaxy tablets can feel more like laptops. With One UI 7.0 based on Android 15, you can use more touchpad gestures to get things done.

According to a report from Android Authority, Google has added a new gesture called Tap Drag to make it easier to move interface elements on the screen.

Introduced for tablets running Android 14 QPR3 (June 2024), the new feature lets you move interface elements by double-tapping the trackpad and dragging. Previously, you could only press and drag the trackpad to move interface elements on the screen. To use the new feature, you need a keyboard with a gesture-enabled trackpad.

In addition, Google introduced three other new gestures with Android 14:

Three-finger tap: return to the previous screen
Three-finger swipe up: return to the home screen
Three-finger swipe up and hold: open the recent apps menu
Since Samsung makes high-quality Keyboard Covers for the Galaxy Tab series, many people will soon be able to use the new gestures.
