Samsung continues to roll out the December 2024 security update for Galaxy S24 series devices. After rolling out the One UI 7 beta update last week for the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra, the company has now released a standalone security patch for users still running Android 14 and One UI 6.1.1.

In addition, the Galaxy S24 FE, although not eligible for the One UI 7 beta program, has also started receiving the patch. For the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra, the update has been rolled out in South Korea with the firmware code S92xNKSS5AXKA. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 FE is receiving the patch in Europe with the firmware code S721BXXS3AXK6.

Additionally, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 users in Europe can also download the December security update.

This update focuses primarily on improving device security, which is understandable since Samsung is currently focusing on developing Android 15 and One UI 7. Therefore, Galaxy S24 series users should not expect new features or experience improvements before the official version of One UI 7.0 is released next year.

To check for and install the December 2024 security update on your Galaxy device, open the Settings app, select Software update, then tap Download and Install.
