Back in February, Samsung announced One UI 6.1 for high-end devices launching in 2023 and said the update would roll out in March. However, the company did not give any specific information about the release date. By the end of the month, One UI 6.1 will start arriving on devices.

Last week, Samsung finally revealed that One UI 6.1 โ€“ along with Galaxy AI โ€“ will be coming to high-end devices launched before 2023. Again, they didn't give any specific timeline. This time though, it could take place at the beginning of the month.

According to Canadian carrier Fido, the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Flip 4 will receive an update on May 3. However, the source did not specifically mention whether this is One UI 6.1 or just a security patch.

It's likely just a security patch as Fido also mentioned that the Galaxy S21 series will receive an update on May 3. However, we hope it's One UI 6.1 because Samsung's update schedule is already later than previous years. Additionally, this isn't the first time we've had rumors of an update in early May.

One UI 6.1 hit the market with the Galaxy S24 series at the end of January. Nearly three months later, only the Galaxy S23 series (including Galaxy S23 FE), Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series have been upgraded. While the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Galaxy Z Fold 4 could be updated in May, we still don't know if Samsung plans to popularize One UI 6.1 further.
