Galaxy A55, Samsung's most high-end mid-range phone model is about to launch shortly. Besides the A series devices, the Korean company will also introduce corresponding Galaxy M phone models, such as the Galaxy M55. This is a phone model with a more affordable price and longer battery life. Although not much information about this phone has surfaced yet, it has been certified to be ready for launch.
Galaxy M55 has just been found through Wi-Fi Alliance certification with the code name SM-M556B (Galaxy A55 is SM-A556B). This shows that the device will support Wi-Fi 6 with 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands and WPA3 security. Although this is not the newest Wi-Fi standard, it is quite popular at present. Not to mention, for a mid-range device like the M55, we can't ask for more.
The certification also shows that the Galaxy M55 will have a dual-SIM version. Unfortunately, that's all that can be found about this phone on the Wi-Fi Alliance website. Previously, the device also appeared on Geekbench with Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset and 8GB RAM. It is unclear whether Samsung will release a 6GB RAM version of this phone or not.
Galaxy M55 is expected to have One UI 6.1 interface based on Android 14 pre-installed at the time of launch. Although the Galaxy A55 will have a metal frame, it is difficult for an M series phone to have such a premium frame. This product line always aims at affordable prices with powerful specifications and does not have many high-end features. Using a metal frame can make the cost of the device significantly higher, and Samsung will not do that with the Galaxy M55.
Last year, the Galaxy M54 was launched in the second half of March, about a week after the Galaxy A54. However, there is information that the Galaxy A55 will launch later than usual. This may cause the Galaxy M55 to be delayed as well. Currently, Samsung is focusing on the Galaxy Unpacked event taking place in the United States. Here, the company will announce the Galaxy S24 product line with "Galaxy AI" with many unprecedented features.
