Samsung recently released the first beta of Android 15 and those who have experienced this version are discovering new features in the operating system. Recently, another new feature was discovered that helps improve screen sharing while still maintaining the privacy of sensitive data on the device.

Android 15 improves screen sharing while maintaining the privacy of sensitive data

Android Police has discovered that Android 15 Beta 1.1 has a new Developer Option named Disable Screen Share Protection. This allows users to enable or disable sensitive data protection within the application. For example, data such as private messages or one-time passwords may be hidden when screen sharing is enabled. It is internally called Sensitive Content Protection.

Developers can use this feature to hide or block specific data fields. This way, applications can be displayed during the screen sharing session but sensitive data will be hidden. It's great because we can still share without banning the entire app.

Additionally, it improves data security. Apps that trick users into sharing their screens will not be able to view sensitive information. However, Google has not officially explained this feature yet, so we need to wait a little longer to see how developers can use it to improve security and privacy.
