Samsung is rolling out an update for the Galaxy Watch 3 that contains new One UI Watch 5 watch faces.

One UI Watch 5 was announced by Samsung with the Galaxy Watch 6 line earlier this year. After that, the update gradually landed on the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 series. Older Galaxy watch models running Tizen will never experience One UI Watch 5. However, Samsung confirmed a few months ago that the Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Active 2 will receive the latest watch faces.

That time has finally arrived, at least for the Galaxy Watch 3. Samsung is rolling out an update with two new One UI Watch 5 watch faces (Time Stretch and Perpetual) for the device.

The update comes in baseband version R840XXU1DWK2 or R850XXU1DWK2 and is being rolled out in Europe. Note that after updating, Tizen is still at version 5.5.0.2.

This could be the last feature update of the Galaxy Watch 3.

Galaxy Watch Active 2 has not yet experienced new watch faces. However, sooner or later the device will be updated.

These two Tizen watch models are outdated. Samsung says it will support them for at least three years. So they don't have much time left. Galaxy Watch 2 Active was launched in 2019. Galaxy Watch 3 launched a year later.

These two watch faces of the One UI Watch 5 may be the last new features these two older watch models receive. However, we cannot know the answer for sure until the Galaxy Watch 7 series is introduced.

For now, if you want to update your Galaxy Watch 3, open the Samsung Wearable app on your phone, go to Watch Settings, go to Watch Software Update, then tap Download and Install.
