Samsung seems to be developing two new shooting modes - FlexSnap and FlexShot - for Flex Mode on the Galaxy line.
Samsung may be coming up with a few new camera features for the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5. The company has just registered two new trademarks: FlexSnap and FlexShot.
These two words are not mentioned in the feature list or changelog of the latest One UI 5.1.1 update – which Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 will come pre-installed.
There are two possibilities. First, these two features exist in One UI 5.1.1 exclusively for the two latest foldable phone models. However, Samsung did not mention them in their documents.
The second scenario is more realistic. Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 will not have these two features available from the factory. If so, FlexShot and FlexSnap could appear later this year. It is likely that Samsung will launch them alongside One UI 6.0 for the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5.
Based on the name, FlexSnap seems to be related to Snapchat. However, nothing is certain at this time. When you look up the term FlexShot online, you will find “ultra-thick rubber sealant” branded “Flex Shot”. Obviously, this has nothing to do with the phone.
Anyway, based on Samsung's naming convention, we're pretty sure FlexSnap and FlexShot are directly related to Flex Hinge and Flex Mode. In other words, they will be exclusive to the Galaxy Z series of foldable phones.
