Samsung is releasing the September 2023 update for its Galaxy devices. Currently, the Galaxy S22 series has also received this update in Europe.

The September 2023 update for the Galaxy S22 weighs 235MB and is codenamed S90xBXXS6CWH6. The "S" in the number indicates that this is a regular security patch and does not add any new features. This update fixes 62 vulnerabilities, most of which come from Google's Android platform.

The Galaxy S22 series is eligible to receive One UI 6.0, but it's still unclear when. Currently, only Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra have experienced One UI 6.0 Beta. Most likely the Android 14 update will be officially released for Galaxy devices later this year.

If you're using the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra, try checking for the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

The new update for Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra is codenamed S91xUSQS1AWHD. Currently, only Verizon users are receiving the update, but other carriers as well as international versions of this phone will also receive it soon. According to Samsung documents, their September 2023 update fixes 62 security bugs on Galaxy devices.

According to the codename of the new firmware, it seems to only bring simple security patches without including any other new features. Currently, the Galaxy S23 is still the only Samsung product line tested for One UI 6.0.

If you are using any Galaxy S23 model, you can check by going to Settings > Software update > Download and Install to see if your device has received the new update or not.
