Versatile Search is one of many new AI features that Samsung has introduced with the Galaxy S24 series. The technology behind this feature is from Google. However, Samsung has implemented a very good multi-purpose Search Field on One UI to provide users with a seamless experience.

Unfortunately, it seems like the Multi-function Search Field is not working on some users' Galaxy S24 Ultra. This issue may be due to the latest update that Google just rolled out, which may have a few bugs that need to be resolved.

The Multi-purpose Search area does not work after Google's latest update

Essentially, the Universal Search Area allows you to search for anything on the screen simply by drawing a circle around it. You activate this feature by holding down the Home key and then selecting the object you want to search for. Galaxy S24 is the first phone line to come with this feature. Since then, Universal Search Zone has appeared on other non-Samsung devices.

Many users have complained about errors with the Multi-function Search Field on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Instead of providing results, this feature throws the error “It Looks Like There Aren't Many Great Matches For Your Search”. All necessary permissions have been granted and Google Assistant is also fully set up by the complainers. Currently, even a factory reset does not fix this error.

One user discovered that Google's latest update could be the cause. So, they downgraded by going to the Google Play Store, searching for Google apps, and pressing the “Uninstall” key. This action does not remove the Google app but downgrades it to an older version. This makes the versatile Search Zone work again on their Galaxy S24 Ultra. You can do this until an official fix is deployed.
