As expected, Samsung will introduce Galaxy Watch 5 at the end of the year with 3 versions: Galaxy Watch 5, Galaxy Watch 5 Classic, and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

However, a new report from SamMobile reveals that the Korean company will be phasing out the Classic version.

Currently, Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic are the 2 best smartwatches targeting two different audience segments. In particular, Watch 4 is more attractive to young people, while Watch 4 Classic is for users who like elegance. But the Classic line may have been dropped from Samsung's portfolio to make room for the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro model.

This year, we will only see the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro, the Pro version will be only one size and larger than the standard version. Galaxy Watch 5 will be available in 40mm and 44mm sizes, there is no word on whether the upcoming watches will have bezel rotation or not?

The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will carry model number SM-R925 and feature a large 572mAh battery instead of the 361mh battery currently found inside the Galaxy Watch 4. The 40mm Galaxy Watch 5 is expected to have a smaller 276mAh battery, the 44mm version will feature has a 361mAh battery.

In addition to the battery, a recent report has revealed that the Watch 5 series will feature a circular OLED display and come with features like GPS and heart rate monitoring. The watch is also expected to come with a body composition sensor, just like the Galaxy Watch 4. Both Watch 5 models will run One UI Watch on Wear OS 3.
