After the testing period, Samsung has now started to release the official One UI 5 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 4.
One UI 5 Watch is an update based on Wear OS 4, the operating system for wearable devices including smartwatches. The Galaxy Watch 6 series has been pre-installed with this software since its launch three weeks ago. Today, Samsung said it has started updating the One UI 5 Watch for the Galaxy Watch 5 series, while the Galaxy Watch 4 will also receive the new software shortly after.
One UI 5 Watch offers a better experience in health and fitness tracking. One of the notable features is Sleep Coaching, which builds on Samsung's previous sleep-tracking feature. After tracking your sleep, it will assign you an icon to make it easier for you to visualize your sleeping position. From there, we will give you tips and tasks to complete every day to help you sleep better.
In addition, the Heart Rate Zone feature evaluates how you're exercising and determines your heart rate zone based on what your cardiovascular system is doing during light to intense workouts. That way, you can know where you are and what you need to do to ensure your heart health.
One of the last important upgrades that One UI 5 Watch brings is the new watch face. Most of the watch faces have already been seen on the Galaxy Watch 6 series, and they will be available for the Galaxy Watch 5 as well as the Galaxy Watch 4. If you're using a Galaxy Watch 3 or Watch Active 2, you'll also get some New watch faces coming soon.
