Recent rumors suggest that Samsung is about to launch a new foldable phone, which could be called the Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim, Galaxy Z Fold Ultra, or Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra. However, these names seem to be incorrect.
Leakster Evan Blass said that Samsung's next foldable phone is officially called the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. The source also revealed that the product has a 6.5-inch outer screen and an 8-inch inner screen, which is quite larger than the screen on the Galaxy Z Fold6. Not only that, it is also very thin, only 4.9mm when opened and 10.6mm when folded.
This could help the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition compete in terms of thinness with other rivals such as the Honor Magic V3 and Xiaomi Mix Fold 4. Honor's product is 4.35mm thick when opened and 9.2mm when folded, while Xiaomi's device is 4.6mm and 9.5mm thick, respectively.
However, the bad news is that Samsung's products may only be sold in Korea and China. This may disappoint users in other markets. Anyway, let's wait until the official launch of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which is expected in September.
